Adware.NaviPromo.Gen.5 is a malware that uses rootkit techniques to hide its files. The files are hidden on the disk and memory of the system. It infects the system and gives no real indication of its activities to the user. It is passed on to the system with software available for download from sites such as editplayer.com, planet.co, etc. It is usually found in the Documents and Settings Folder under Application Data. It usually monitors and gathers information on the browser history of the infected system. It usually floods the infected system with pop ups on sites usually frequented by the user on a system. The system speed decreases a great deal in carrying out executable commands. Internet speed is also adversely affected due to this malware.
