What is Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?
What is Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?
Search Engine Marketing or SEM is the practice of marketing websites, products, and services on the Internet. An SEM campaign is specifically aimed at people who use search engines to find information, products and services on the web. And there’re billions of them. 4 out 5 internet users use search engines. So when we launch internet marketing campaigns of our clients, SEM is almost always the most significant component of the strategy.
Two major components of SEM are as follows:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
It is the ‘natural’ way of making your website rank higher on SERPs. The process is no doubt time consuming but done well, the results can be highly satisfying.
An SEO campaign for a new website can take few weeks or several months at a stretch. Noticeable results can be achieved within few weeks but organic SEO does take some time to deliver real, lasting results.
We plan SEO campaigns that ensure promising and lasting return on investment. High ceiling and high volume traffic is another goal we keep in mind.
Pay Per Click
Also known as Search Advertising, Pay-Per-Click or PPC campaigns can be setup quickly. Here, you ‘pay’ search engines to display your text advertisements on SERPs. The cost of each click depends a great deal on the kind of search queries or keyword combinations you are targeting.
Although PPC campaigns are quick to setup, easy to measure and involve much less efforts than SEO, they are tad expensive. Volume potential too is low in this case.
We recommend a fine blend of both methods for the best results.
